NG Nordic and Riihimäen Kaukolämpö confirm their long-term cooperation in the supply of thermal energy

NG Nordic and Riihimäen Kaukolämpö have signed a new thermal energy supply agreement. The long-term agreement secures the supply of district heating for Riihimäen Kaukolämpö's customers. The amount of thermal energy to be supplied covers more than 95% of the annual demand of the Riihimäki district heating network.

"It's great that the heat generated by our waste treatment plants can be used to heat local homes. The new supply agreement is important for our business and, at the same time, a great continuation of our long-term cooperation," says Kari Rahkonen, Managing Director of NG Nordic's Industrial Waste Services business in Finland.

The supply agreement is significant for Riihimäen Kaukolämpö Oy. "All the heat included in the supply agreement is energy with a guaranteed guarantee of origin, and we are working with NG Nordic to investigate the introduction of electronic heat production and heat storage. With the new supply agreement, we will also cover an even larger part of our energy needs during the cold season," says Antti Eskola, Managing Director of Riihimäen Kaukolämpö.

The companies have been working together for over 40 years, as NG Nordic has been supplying district heating to Riihimäen Kaukolämpö since then Ekokem's processing operations began in 1984.
