NG Nordic supports call for a national Norwegian climate target by 2035

"A faster shift to a circular economy needs clear climate targets and strong, long-term policies. With the right political framework, circular solutions can scale and cut emissions at the speed and size needed. Together with our customers and partners, we will continue doing our part," says Bjørn Arve Ofstad, CEO of NG Nordic.

At NG Nordic, climate action goes beyond reducing our own emissions. We are addressing a global challenge; transforming waste into valuable resources to accelerate the shift to a circular economy. Our services help decarbonize society and our customers’ operations, protect ecosystems, and improve access to circular raw materials—many of which are critical and scarce.

As part of our commitment to this, NG Nordic has signed the Norwegian Business Call for a National Climate Target for 2035. This initiative is led by Skift – Business Climate Leaders in Norway, in partnership with ZERO and the Norwegian Climate Foundation. It brings together leading companies across industries to advocate for clear and ambitious national climate targets.

The call comes in response to the Norwegian government’s latest climate proposal, which does not include a national target for emissions reductions, despite clear advice from both the Norwegian Environment Agency and Skift. Many business leaders from leading companies in Norway, including our own CEO, Bjørn Arve Ofstad are now asking for stronger climate policies that are clear, more ambitious, and give predictable signals. We believe this is important to move from a linear to a circular economy.
